The World Poker Tour adopts a delayed final table approach to its broadcast on television which sees them set up multiple final tables over several weeks and then play them all on a daily basis at one central location: the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas, located at the Luxor Hotel & Casino. .
The WPT currently has three final table sets that have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The WPT Gardens Poker Championship, the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open and the WPT LA Poker Class have all seen their main event area narrowed down to the final table of six players. The players have been forced to wait longer than planned to find out which of them will emerge as WPT champions visit BudayaPoker.
Luxor Hotel & Casino will reopen on June 25. Allied Esports recently announced that their HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas will be part of the re-opening on that date. The venue has released safety guidelines due to the continuing threat from the coronavirus, with a distance of six feet between game stations, improved sanitation of public areas, necessary face covering for employees and recommended for guests, and more. Their full list of security protocols can be found on the official website: hyperxesalv.com/staysafe.
While offers regarding the video game venue will continue, with new hours and some restrictions, it is not clear when the WPT final table will be played. No announcement has yet been made by the WPT. When reached for comment, WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage offered the following information:
“Las Vegas has recently reopened its doors. We have daily discussions regarding the final table, and will share our plans with our final table players and our fans in a timely manner. ”
It is now more than five months since the first of three delayed final tables were set, with the WPT Gardens Poker Championship reaching the final six on 13 January.
